Mainca USA Inc.

Mainca USA Incorporated is a privately held corporation founded in 2001 by Dale and
Patti Schmidt. The Schmidt Family has been involved with the meat and food processing
industry for over 60 years. It began in 1942 when Roy Elias Schmidt, along with his
partner Leo Welsh, opened The Schmidt-Welsh Equipment Company to rebuild and
service meat and food processing equipment and weight scales in the St. Louis area.
Roy's previous experience working for several of the industry's leading manufactures
of meat processing equipment had prepared him with invaluable experience in both
service and sales. Within a few years Roy bought out his partner and was joined by his
wife Loretta. The company name was changed to Roy E. Schmidt Sales & Service Co.

In 1953 Roy's son Arthur joined the company after a tour of duty with the U.S. Air Force
during the Korean War. Art oversaw the company's move to larger facilities at 2022
Gravois Avenue in 1963, and incorporation in 1969. Under Art's leadership the company
doubled in size and business.

Art was joined by his son Dale in 1981 after Dale's graduation from the University of
Missouri in St. Louis. Dale soon took over the sales department adding three additional
sales associates and expanding the company's leadership in the digital electronic scale
market. The company continued to grow and add new lines of equipment throught the
1980's. Dale was named President of the corporation in 1997 and guided the company's
growth to a staff of thirteen and gross sales in excess of $2,000,000.00 annually. In 2001
the company moved again into a newly renovated 13,000 square foot facility, and the
corporation was renamed " Schmidt Equipment & Supply Inc." The company has
expanded to cover a 150 mile radius of the city of St. Louis and continues to provide
quality equipment, supplies and exceptional service.

In the year 2000 Dale was approached by the marketing division of Mainca Equipamientos Carnicos S.L. of Barcelona
SPAIN. Mainca was interested in expanding their North American sales base. Since Mainca had done business previously
with the Schmidt family, it was a natural and obvious fit. In 2001 plans were drawn up to form Mainca USA Incorporated as
an independent national importer and distributor of the entire Mainca line with Dale Schmidt as President. Under Dale's
guidance Mainca USA has appointed over sixty quality distributors of Meat & Food Processing Equipment throughout the
United States and Canada giving Mainca USA one of the widest service networks of any major North American Supplier.
